Hi from Havana, Cuba

Well, we've been here about 4 weeks already after completing our summer courses in Mallorca. We live half a block from school in a sulubrious area of Havana called Miramar.Our apartment has a couple of patios and a few bedrooms but most of the furniture is turn of the century. The sweltering heat and humidity has meant we're generally confined to our air-conditioned room when we get home and only venture out to the kitchen for food.

It's been bucketing down all day and the air is still dense with humidity. There was a power outage that didn't last too long but it necessitated baptizing the candles for the first time.Life is good. We're settling in okay and are going to be here for at least 2 years so we may as well get used to it.

People are warm, outgoing and friendly without exception. Other than that, can't say too much else.
