Hi from Havana, Cuba
Well, we've been here about 4 weeks already after completing our summer courses in Mallorca. We live half a block from school in a sulubrious area of Havana called Miramar. Our apartment has a couple of patios and a few bedrooms but most of the furniture is turn of the century. The sweltering heat and humidity has meant we're generally confined to our air-conditioned room when we get home and only venture out to the kitchen for food.
It's been bucketing down all day and the air is still dense with humidity. There was a power outage that didn't last too long but it necessitated baptizing the candles for the first time.Life is good. We're settling in okay and are going to be here for at least 2 years so we may as well get used to it.
People are warm, outgoing and friendly without exception. Other than that, can't say too much else.
I'll post a few photos next time but if you want to get in touch now that we're staying put for so long, don't hesitate to post a message or email at

Thanks for tuning in all those times to keep you updated of our whereabouts and we look forward to giving you more updates.

Palma De Mallorca
What an interesting departure this island makes from our last island in the Maldives! Very tourist driven especially in the summer months with people from northern European climes desperate form a tan and a bit of sun that they were previously missing in their lives throughout the year.
Well, we got here safe and sound by way of a flight back to Kerala in India, another one to Mumbai and then to London and finally from London via Barcelona to Palma.6 flights in 6 days, so we arrived beat.
We´re settled about 2 weeks now in a studio overlooking the beach and attending college most days.Marc is doing his teaching Masters while I am doing a Principals Masters so that pretty much occupies most of the daylight hours which go right through to 10pm at night. It´s funny to come from a land where people think you are strange for getting brown and baking in the sun while here people adore it so much you could still find them on the sand well past 9pm at night.
The structure has provided a necessary semblance to our life after nearly two years on the road. Jack Kerouac, beware!
